If you love self-striping yarn but don’t want complicated stitchwork competing with those beautiful color changes, this one is for you.
The Avery Crochet Baby Blanket is soft, modern, and wonderfully simple.

Made with a relaxing one-row repeat that lets the yarn do all the heavy lifting. The texture comes from alternating front-bottom-loop and back-loop half double crochet stitches, creating subtle ridges that give depth without stiffness.
It’s beginner-friendly.
It’s gift-worthy.
And it’s the kind of project you can comfortably crochet while watching your favorite show.
Whether you're making this for a new grandbaby, a baby shower gift, or adding a sweet handmade touch to your home, the Avery Baby Blanket is one you’ll want to make again and again.

Final Thoughts
The Avery Baby Blanket proves that simple stitches and beautiful yarn are sometimes the perfect combination.
There’s something so satisfying about watching those soft stripes unfold row by row, especially when you don’t have to think too hard about the stitch pattern.
If you make one, I’d love to know: Who are you making it for?
Grandbaby? Baby shower? Just because?
And if you're experimenting with self-striping yarn too… this stitch is definitely one worth saving.
