If you’ve ever looked at a brick wall and thought, “Hmm… that would make a really cute crochet stitch,” (LOL) you’re going to love this one.
The Tunisian crochet brick stitch is a beautifully textured stitch pattern that mimics the look of stacked bricks.

It’s fun to work up, super satisfying to watch grow, and adds just the right amount of visual interest to simple projects like dish towels, placemats, scarves, or even full blankets.
I recently used this stitch to design a beginner-friendly kitchen towel pattern, and it quickly became one of my favorite makes.
The texture is both practical (hello, absorbency) and stylish (perfect for farmhouse or modern decor).

Why You’ll Love the Brick Stitch
Besides being incredibly pretty, the Tunisian brick stitch checks all the boxes:
🧱 Easy to learn – Once you get the rhythm down, it’s smooth stitching from there.
🧱 Minimal curling – Compared to some other Tunisian stitches, this one behaves much better in terms of curling (although blocking or starting with a no-curl stitch still helps).
🧱 Perfect for color changes – The stacked, offset texture makes this stitch ideal for stripes or gradient yarns if you want to play with color.
