Knit-Like Crochet Blanket Pattern | The Myles
The Yarn
I ordered quite a bit of Lion Brand’s Limited Edition Premium Yarn in both neutrals and greys. It’s a 4 medium/worsted weight yarn and it was perfect for the Myles blanket.
If you don’t have this yarn, you can easily substitute any worsted weight, such as Lion Brand’s Pound of Love yarn, which is a favorite of mine.
I used almost 3,000 yards for this blanket, so three skeins of the Pound of Love is what you need to complete it.
Pound of Love in Elephant Grey is the most similar to the yarn I used.
The Stitches
There are three basic stitches I used for the Myles blanket:
- The foundation half double crochet
- The half double crochet 3rd loop
- The ribbed stitch for the border
For photo tutorials and videos for these stitches, you can purchase the printable pattern on our Etsy shop here or our ICCT shop here.

The Myles Blanket
The Myles Throw is worked length-wise using half double crochet in the third loop, which gives the blanket a knit-like look and feel. Finish off with a knit-like border, resulting in a handmade blanket that no one will believe is crochet.
Foundation row fhdc 232 (or alternately, ch 233, hdc in 2nd ch from hook, hdc in remaining chains to end), ch 1, turn (232 sts)
(Note: You are NOT stitching an hdc in 3rd loop on the first and last st of the row; instead, you are doing a regular hdc. This prevents big gaps on the ends for the border.)
Row 1 hdc in first hdc , hdc 3rd loop in next hdc and rest of hdcs until last hdc, hdc in last hdc, ch 1, turn (232 sts)
Rows 2 – 109 repeat row 1

Border:
ch 1, 2sc in first stitch along the side, sc in each st evenly along the side, 2sc in last st
2sc in first st, sc in each st, 2sc in last st
2sc in first st, sc in each st evenly along the side, 2sc in last st
2sc in first st, sc in each st, 2sc in last st
(starting ribbed st border; do not fasten off; this border only goes on the two sides)
- ch 9, sc in 2nd ch from hook, sc in rest of chains (8 sc), sl st in next 2 sts, turn
- sc blo in each sc, ch 1, turn
- sc blo in each sc, sl st in next 2 sts, turn
Repeat steps 2 and 3 until end, fasten off
Ribbed border st continued…
Attach yarn to other corner and repeat steps 1 – 3 for ribbed border.
Fasten off; weave in all ends

I design modern and unique Tunisian crochet and standard crochet patterns and tutorials that bring me joy, and that I think you will LOVE. I’ve been crocheting for 25+ years and with the gentle nudging of my husband, decided to turn this passion into what you see here on ICCT. This is my playground!

Love your blanket patterns! Especially the Tunisian crochet ones. My projects are mostly for family and friends, but I'm making the Let's Go Camping for myself. I spend hours around my fire pit, and this beauty is bound to make those hours even better. I'm also working on the Bryn. (Might keep that one as well!)Thanks again!
