A cozy crochet wrap you’ll wear everywhere.

If there’s one piece I keep reaching for lately, it’s this sweater scarf. It’s that perfect in-between layer, when you don’t want a full coat, but you still want something cozy wrapped around you.
When I sat down to design this sweater scarf, my main goal was to make a Tunisian crochet project that felt totally approachable. Even if you’re newer to Tunisian.
I wanted simple stitches, long relaxing rows, and as few ends to weave in as possible.

I also designed the sleeves so you don’t have to fasten off and reattach yarn to seam, which keeps things easier, cleaner, and way more enjoyable to make.
And beyond the making, I wanted it to be a piece you’d actually reach for in real life.
Something you could throw on over a tee and jeans, but also dress up with boots and a flowy top. Something that feels casual enough for everyday wear, but polished enough to take out to dinner.
And honestly? I love this design so much! Both the making of it and the wearing of it. 🙂

Why You’ll Love This Sweater Scarf
This piece is worked in Tunisian half double crochet, which gives it that beautiful knit-like texture without actually knitting. The fabric is soft, warm, and drapey not stiff or bulky. And...this stitch doesn't curl!
You can wear it:
- Over a simple tee and jeans
- With leggings and boots
- Layered over a dress
- At a chilly movie theater
- Running errands
- Traveling
- Or curled up on the couch with your morning coffee
It truly works for everyday life.

Let’s Talk Colorways
I ended up making three different versions of this sweater scarf:
- A solid color
- A solid + variegated
- A solid + self-striping
Each one gives off a totally different vibe. The pattern in this blog post is the solid + variegated version, which is the one you’ll see in all the photos here.

That mix of a solid base with the subtle color changes from the variegated yarn gives it so much dimension and it’s still very wearable.
If you’d like:
- The solid-only version
- The self-striping version
- Plus all three sizes and full yarn info
You’ll find everything inside the paid PDF pattern.
