I love how this one turned out and how easy it is! Plus, it works up so incredibly quickly, given you don’t have to change colors.
Essential Materials and Preparation for Your Tunisian Crochet Puff Stitch Infinity Scarf Pattern
To make a beautiful Tunisian crochet scarf, you need the right materials and prep.
Lion Brand Mandala – A Self Striping Yarn
Lion Brand Mandala is a fan-favorite self-striping yarn known for its stunning gradients and vibrant colorways.
Perfect for both beginners and advanced crafters, this lightweight (Category 3) yarn creates seamless color transitions, making it ideal for eye-catching blankets, shawls, scarves, and more.
With its soft, 100% acrylic composition, Mandala is machine washable, durable, and so enjoyable to work with.
Each cake boasts generous yardage, allowing for fewer joins in larger projects. Whether you’re crocheting or knitting, Mandala’s effortless stripes elevate any project with minimal effort.
We have a ton of self-striping yarn crochet patterns for you to choose from. Here are a few:
- Easy Tunisian Crochet Blanket Scarf Pattern – A customer favorite!
- Tunisian Crochet Triangle Scarf Pattern
- No-Curl Tunisian Crochet Camping Blanket Pattern – if you’re familiar with Tunisian crochet, you know it tends to curl. This pattern uses a stitch that doesn’t curl at all!
- The Estes Blanket – A regular crochet camping blanket pattern
- Striped Corner to Corner Baby Blanket – Tunisian crochet

Required Tools and Hooks
For this pattern, you’ll only have 40 loops on your hook at a time, so you can use either a long Tunisian crochet hook or one with a cord attached—whichever you prefer.
Unlike larger projects like blankets that require over 100 loops and a cabled hook for extra length, this scarf pattern keeps things simple and manageable.
Choose the tool that feels most comfortable for you, and enjoy creating a cozy, colorful accessory that works up beautifully with the yarn’s natural stripes.

Understanding Gauge and Measurements
Before starting your Tunisian crochet puff stitch infinity scarf, know about gauge and measurements. Swatch a small section with your yarn and hook to check the stitch pattern and drape. This ensures your Tunisian crochet scarf fits right and looks great.
