This pattern will walk you through many different stitches, helping you create a stunning and snuggly blanket that shows off the one-of-a-kind charm of Tunisian crochet. Get ready to fall in love with this incredible technique!
I’ve wanted to create a Tunisian crochet sampler blanket for quite some time. I actually had half of one done, but it was just sitting with all of my other unfinished WIPs. About a month ago, I found it buried beneath some other failed designs, and I decided to give it another go.
What really got me excited about designing one was when I saw the Mandala Ombre yarn in the Felicity colorway. Something about those colors instantly grabbed me, and I knew I had to incorporate it into this design.
Since mixing a self-striping yarn with a solid color yarn is my favorite thing ever, I picked up some Pound of Love in Vanilla out of my stash and got to work!
I wanted to show you this blanket in two colorways, so I also made one with Mandala Ombre in Joy and Pound of Love in Elephant Grey.
If you’d like to find yarn substitutions, I always use Yarnsub.com.
Tunisian Crochet Sampler Blanket Pattern – The Taylor

Description
This Tunisian crochet sampler blanket showcases a rich tapestry of skills. It features approximately six different stitches that harmonize to create a visually stunning and texturally diverse masterpiece.
The pattern integrates simple stitches, like the Tunisian simple stitch, alongside more complex techniques, such as the Tunisian wave stitch and smock stitch, to achieve an effect that captivates the eye.
Each section highlights a different stitch, making the blanket not only a cozy addition to any home but also a valuable learning tool for crocheters looking to expand their repertoire.
Adding the self-striping yarn means no ends to weave in throughout the blanket and easy peasy color changes.

Notes
- Finished size measures 43 1/2″ wide x 71″ long (with border)
- Regarding changing colors – you will change colors before the Forward pass when you have two loops left on your hook; pull the new color through the two loops on your hook
- Pay special attention to the Tunisian crochet wave stitch rows – you do not change colors on the last row and instead do another row of Tunisian simple stitch with Yarn A; this is so the Tunisian reverse stitch shows up in Yarn A, which divides each set of different stitches
